Square panel, belonging to the mosaic floor of the ancient sacellum (shrine) of S. Vitale. At the centre of the composition there is a cantharos, surrounded by different kinds of birds, flowers and vegetal elements. At the bottom of the vase there are two peacocks, near each handle there is a robin redbreast. At the top of the vase two turtle doves with red collar, turned upside down.
