Detail of a composite two-zone capital, with a basket shape kalathos decorated with stylized acanthus leaves and a cross instead of the fleuron. A Latin inscription runs around the kalathos rim. The capital is fitted on an early imperial Roman column (1st-2nd c.), reused and re-carved in the 6th c. AD, decorated with low-relief shoots and branches.
