Doura Europos, Temple of Bel, wall painting on plaster depicting the Roman tribune Julius Terentius performing a sacrifice. It is located on the lower register of the northern wall of the pronaos of the so-called Temple of the Palmyrene Gods (Temple of Bel). The performer is named by a painted inscription in Latin. Terentius is pouring incense into a thymiaterion (?), the soldiers of his unit flanking his right side, and behind him, a priest is represented.
