Archiepiscopal Museum, the throne of Maximian. The throne is composed of twenty-two ivory panels framed by ivory bands with plant and animal motifs. St. John the Baptist and the four Evangelists are represented on the front. The sides show biblical stories from the life of Joseph. Scenes from the life of Christ and the Virgin are depicted on the back.
