This is a dedicatory wall-painting commissioned by Nicephorus Kalleas, who according to the inscription, was a farrier of horses: ''+The devout Nicephorus, farrier of horses, moved by a fervent desire and good dispotion, had the icon of the great martyr George painted for the revered Monastery of Phorvia, desiring to find as his help at the Judgement the radiantly crowned martyr and the prayers of the dwellers here. Supplication of Nicephorus Kalleas''.</p>
