dc.description
On a first level, upon a deathbed with a red mattress, the relic of Panagia is shown, her slightly raised head resting on a grey pillow. Her hands are crossed upon her chest. Four lit candles are symmetrically arranged on the long sides of the bed. Along the edges gathered together from the edges of the world, the apostles are shown with pronounced grief on their faces. Peter and Paul head the two groups. In Front of Paul, behind the bed, John the Theologian is shown as an old man with a semi-bald head and a long white beard. Further up, the Apostle Andrew is identified with his distinctive curling hair. Christ is shown holding in his arms the soul of Theotokos in the form of a swaddled infant.
