Title: Holy Bishopric of Morphou: The Ascension of Christ, Church of the Archangel Michael in Pedoulas
Start date: 1474
End date: 1474
Historical Period: Late Byzantine Period
Description:

The middle of the pediment has suffered extensive damage due to moisture, which resulted in complete erasure of the figure of Panagia, who stood in the center, flanked by two subgroups of Christ's disciples. t the apex, within a white circular glory supported by two angels, Christ is shown at full length, sitting and giving blessings with his right hand raised. The starkly rocky landscape is rendered in a characteristic manner, its harshness pronounced by the Cubist rendering.
