On the conch of the bema apse, on a two-colored background, dark blue-black above and greenish below, Theotokos is pictured standing, at full length, her hands are raised, On either side of her head, there is the inscription: MH(TH)P Θ(Ε)ΟΥ Η ΠΑΝΑΓΙΑ. In front of her chest, in a medallion, Christ Emmanuel is shown half-length, blessing with his right hand and holding a closed scroll in the left. Flanking Theotokos, in oblique frontal view, dressed in red garments decorated with pearls, the Archangel Michael and Gabriel are depicted on a smaller scale. They are censing with their left hand, outstretching the other hand in supplication
