Description: 

Saints Barbara, Catherine, and Irene, with rich, jeweled garments, full-figure and facing, except for the middle one who is slightly turned towards her right. Barbara is wearing a heavy gold embroidered mantle trimmed with pearls, which echoes the tradition of Byzantine gold embroidered silks. She is holding a cross and a palm branch. Catherine is holding a broken wheel with iron spokes and a book that represents the erudition of the Alexandrian princess. She is wearing a red dress, buttoned at the front and with folds under the breast and a mantle with fur trimming. Irene is wearing the Byzantine imperial cord and precious crown and is holding a cross. All are wearing jeweled hanging earrings.
