dc.description
In the Deesis, Christ enthroned, the 'Saviour of the world', is depicted in the center holding a book with the inscription: Come to me all those who are burdened and weary', calling on all men to approach him to gain peace of mind. He is flanked by the Virgin Mary and Ioannis Prodromos, who are supplicating Him. The family of the dedicators, Zacharias, can be found at the bottom part of the scene, on either side of the inscription, under which has been painted a coat of arms combining the crests of the couple.
