The base of the pediment of the west facade of the church is delimited by a one-line inscription written in capital letters: THIS HOLY AND MOST SACRED CHURCH OF THE MORE THAN HOLY AND MERCIFUL MOTHER OF GOD WAS BUIT IN THE YEAR OF CHRIST 1502 THROUGH THE EXPENSE AND GREAT LONGING OF MASTER DIMITRI DE CORO AND HIS SPOUSE ELENI AND BENEFACTORS OF THIS HOLY MONASTERY MAY THE READERS OF THIS PRAY AND BLESS THEIR MEMORY THROUGH THE LORD. AMEN.
