A carved channel creates vertical and horizontal stylized registers of two sizes. A cross-shaped rose with four leaves is inscribed in the wider register, while a trefoil covers the empty space in-between. A relief rose decorates the center of the smaller registers. It is one of the few Cypriot, wood carved preserved examples of the middle byzantine period still in situ. |
