This quite symmetrical scene presents Jesus in the middel, vertical axis flanked by two groups, Jesus is walking to the right, steps on the broken doors of Hades. Locks, locking bolts, and metal bonds of the door are painted around Jesus, who is holding a raised cross in his left hand. Eva stands him, prays and covers her hands with her red maphorium. Adam and Eva symbolize the whole humankind. On the other side, the busts of three figures turn their eyes to the event., the prophets, King David and King Solomon and John the Forerunner. John points with a gesture to Jesus and holds in his left hand a scroll with the following inscription: ''This is He, of whom I said''
