The muscles of his chest and of his abdominal regions are shaping a cross. He is wearing a white loincloth, bound in the upper part of traditional, cyprtiot cloth. Two balanced grups flank the cross: the standing and grieving Virgin Mary at the left side.The female figure accompanying the Holy Virgin, identified by some scholars with Maria Magdalena. The grieving beloved disciple of Jesus, John, is standing at her right side. The inscription ''John the Theologian'' iden.tifies him</p>
