It has 2 series of arch reliefs, 12 avove and 11 below and two semiarches. On the arches are depicted 22 scenes of the Christological cycle and the Dormition of the Virgin Mother; while on the two edges of the semiarches from the series underneath David is depicted standing to the left, and to the right Prophet Isaiah. This is one of the few architraves of Palaiologan painting that has survived. |
