Three of the four tie-beams that hold the timber roof of the naos together are painted with a scrolling tendril and other decorative motifs. In the centre, the ties have representations of the Holy Towel (Mandylion), the Holy Tile (Keramion), and St James the Persian, St Merkourios, and St Nestor. It disappeared from the palace of Bishop of Kyrenia, during 1974
