Title: Pierides Foundation Museum: Bowl

Description: 

Bowl. Light pink fabric. Low ring-shaped base; carinated form and slightlyinverted vertical rim forming an angle with the body. A reddish slip covers the upper part of the external surface; the sgraffito decoration inside is engraved through a coat of white slip; a female figure is depictedin a frontal position, with arms outstreched. She wears a long dress, a long veil, and a wide belt, and holds, an unidentifiable object in her left hand, possibly a goblet or a fan. A stylized coat-of -arms to her left and small rosettes to her right adotn the field. Below the lip is a narrow band with tangential circles. Splashes of a brownidh-yellow and green paint enirich the decoration. The inside of the vase as well as the upper part of the outside are covered by a glaze with a greenish hue.
