Description: 

Lower part of pyxis. Reddish fabric. Low ring-shaped base, hemispherical body, rim suitably shaped to receive lid. A coat of white slip covers the inner and outer surfaces of the vase. The sgraffito decoration consists of a central medallion with alternating bands of plain and cross-hatched bands, surrounded by a wide border with stylized floral motifs against an imbricated ground. The same band is repeated on the outside, round the body. Brush strokes of brownish-yellow and green paint liven up the engraved pattern. A clear glazing covers the vase inside and out.
