Description: 

Mosaic of the dome (lowest zone) in the Rotunda of St. George in Thessaloniki. Here one of the eight panels dividing the lowest zone of the dome. The panel is occupied by light, two-story buildings composed of a variety of architectural elements, richly studded with pearls and precious stones, whose architectural composition go back to models of the Greco-Roman tradition. A ciborium above aan an altar occupies the central part, while on the sides, in front of this building, there are two martyrs each in an attitude of supplication.
