Restava (Jugoslavia). L'Evangelista Luca con il Nuovo Testamento (XV sec.)

Fresco detail of Church of the Holy Trinity in the Manasija monastery: The evangelist Luke is painted seated in the scriptorium of a two-floors building with elegant porticos and a garden with cypresses. The personification of supreme wisdom is represented next to his left shoulder and is showing the already written gospel on the back of the chair, whereas Luke is sharpening his feather and is preparing himself to copy the text in the empty book he is holding on his knees.
