Fragment of a marble replica of the shield of Athena Parthenos. The exterior of Athena's shield showed the battle between Greeks and Amazons, and the interior, the battle between Gods and Giants. On this small- scale replica shelf the battle with the Amazons is carved in relief. Copy after Phidias
