Description
On a light brown rectangular grave, rendered in perspective, Christ lies in semi-nude. The facade of the sarcophagus is decorated with sculpted decoration. The main elements are two facing human heads, rendered in oblique. An ash-colored loincloth with sporadic red and black bands covers Christ's waist. Also, stands His Mother, Maria, accompanied by two female disciples of Christ. The group of men is led by Christ's beloved disciple, young John who, bowing intensely, lifts with both hands the left hand of Jesus, and kisses it. At the edge, the elder Nicodemus reverently holds Christ's feet in his hands, hidden beneath the himation.
