Detail of a squared slab from the chorus chancel inside Santa Maria Assunta cathedral, in Torcello. The relief decoration features two facing peacocks drinking from a tall footed kantharos; the spare space is filled with acanthus tendrils, while the outer frame bears a motif of circles and rosettes.
