After the aerial bombing suffered in 1944 by the Basilica of San Giovanni Evangelista, excavations were carried out between 1945 and 1948, which brought to light some medieval floor mosaics dating between the twelfth and thirteenth centuries. They are today exposed to the walls of the Basilica
