Description
The cross consists of three wooden parts. On the obverse, the Crucifixion is painted between a representation of an altar on the upper vertical arm of the cross and a male donor in prayer on its lower vertical arm. Two tiny doors comprise the centre of the cross, painted with the face of the crucified Christ; they part to reveal a rectangular cavity. Provenance: Church of the Holy Cross, Askas, Cyprus
