Description
Front face of a marble sarcophagus, traditionally called “sarcophagus of Galla Placidia”. The decoration is framed in architectural structures with columns, as in a temple. Some branches in the central field (forming a decorative circle with ornaments and images of vine, dove and ansate cross), come out from a vase. At the sides a cross with handle features a dove flying down.
