Description

Plate. Reddish fabric. Low flaring base. Body with flaring form. The rim is simply formed by the edge of the sides. A coat of white slip covers the interior and adorns the exterior with tongues. The interior decoration is rendered with both fine and broad inscribed lines. In the centre is a medallion adornes with trefoils enclosed in ellipses and with pendant triangular motifs in between. The engraved pattern is enriched with browish -yellow paint. Light yellow glazing inside and in the upper part externally. Belongs to the ' Zeuxippos Ware' of Byzantine pottery.
