dc.description
In the semi-dome of the apse of the sanctuary the Virgin Mother is depicted standing, seen frontally with her arms streched out to the side as if in supplication. The red, fringed mantle, which covers her head and the upper part of her body, falls in rich folds down over her back. To the right and left of the Virgin the figures of the Archangels Michael and Gabriel, of smaller proportions, bow towards her in beseeching stance, holding censers.
