dc.description<p>16th-century main north portal of the Orthodox Cathedral of Panagia Hodegetria. The church was built in the 14th century over an early Christian basilica and was expanded in the 15th and 16th centuries. During the Ottoman dominion, it was used as a bedestan (covered market). It is located directly beside the Latin Cathedral of Saint Sophia (currently Selimiye Mosque).</p>
