Bearded male portrait head, Brussels, Musée du Cinquantenaire. Εxcavated in I904 at the Hadrianic Baths in Aphrodisias (Turkey); most probably broken from a statue; it has the acronym X M G (Christon Maria genna, 'Christ was born to Mary') together with Th(e)e boethe, ('God, help!') engraved on the top of the head behind the hair crown over the brow.
